Hampshire Cheese Co Tunworth English Camembert 250g

Tunworth is a soft, white-rinded cheese in the Camembert style, made in a 250g wheel. Hampshire Cheese Company make it entirely by hand at Herriard, Hampshire, from the first ladle of pasteurised whole cow's milk to the poplar box it is packed in.

The milk comes from a single herd of Montbeliarde, Swedish Red and Holstein-Friesian cows at Rotherfield Park in East Tisted, a few miles away, and the cheese is set with animal rennet, so it is not for vegetarians. The producer describes a soft, thin and wrinkled rind, a rich and earthy mushroom fragrance and a long-lasting sweet and nutty flavour. Left to ripen, the paste softens from the rind inwards until it runs.

Bring it out of the fridge an hour before serving and let it soften. Eat it with Peter's Yard Sourdough Crackers and a spoon of Tracklements Sticky Fig Relish, or score the top, bake it in its box for twenty minutes and dip in crusty bread. On a cheeseboard it pairs well with Quicke's Mature Clothbound Cheddar and a glass of Nyetimber Classic Cuvée.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
