Miller's Three Fruit Crackers 125g

A stoneground wholemeal cracker baked with sultanas, apple and dates, made by hand by Miller's at a family bakery in Ashbourne in Derbyshire, where the biscuits are still checked by eye before they go in the box.

Stoneground wholemeal flour is 48% of the recipe, with plain wheat flour, chopped sultanas, dried apple pieces, chopped date paste, corn oil, a little dark muscovado sugar, salt and malt extract. The baker describes it simply as a delightful mix of apples, dates and sultanas made with stoneground wholemeal flour. The fruit gives a gentle sweetness and a little chew against the crisp, nutty wholemeal base, without tipping the cracker into biscuit territory.

Sweetness in a cracker suits a cheese with salt or tang to push against. It is a good match for a blue such as Oxford Blue, a soft ripened cheese like Bath Soft Cheese, and a fresh goat's cheese such as Rosary Natural Goat's Cheese Log. It also works alone with a little butter, or with a mild cheddar and a slice of apple for a child's lunch.

A 125g box. Contains gluten from wheat and barley, and the bakery says its products are not suitable for nut allergy sufferers. The baker uses no artificial additives or preservatives. Contains no animal products according to the ingredient list.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
