Shorrocks Lancashire Bomb Waxed Cheese 230g

A smaller Lancashire Bomb, a whole Lancashire cheese sealed in wax, made by Shorrocks at Goosnargh in Lancashire from pasteurised cow's milk with vegetarian rennet. Same cheese as the larger bomb, in a 230g ball that suits two people or a single cheese course.

Nothing goes in beyond pasteurised cow's milk, lactic culture, vegetarian rennet and salt. Lancashire is a cow's milk territorial cheese, and the wax coat keeps this one sealed until you break into it, so it travels and keeps well. Milk is the only declared allergen.

Slice the top off the wax and cut wedges as you go. Lancashire and fruit cake is a northern pairing worth trying; so is a wedge with a crisp apple and a spoon of Highfield Preserves Apple & Cider Chutney. On a board it sits well with Peter's Yard Original Sourdough Crackers and something sharp from the pickle jar. Leftovers go into a cheese and onion pie or a Welsh rarebit.

A whole waxed bomb of 230g, sent chilled. Vegetarian rennet, so it suits vegetarians. Bring it to room temperature before serving and keep it wrapped in the fridge once opened.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
