Four kinds of sourdough cracker in a festive tin from Peter's Yard, baked in small batches from a rye sourdough starter that is left to ferment for sixteen hours before the dough is rolled thin and baked crisp. The tin is illustrated with winter foliage and is the sort that gets kept for buttons afterwards.
The Original is the milk and rye cracker with a little honey. Rosemary & Sea Salt has Cornish sea salt, rosemary, thyme and black pepper. Pumpkin & Sunflower Seed carries 8% seeds with oatmeal and malted wheat for a nuttier bite, and Rye & Charcoal has 21% rye and 2% charcoal, the dark one for soft cheeses. None of them use palm oil or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
It is a cheeseboard in a tin: add a wedge of Quicke's Mature Cheddar, a round of Tunworth and a jar of Hawkshead Relish Christmas Chutney and the job is done. The same crackers come without the tin in the maker's Selection Box.
