Naga Bomb Artisan Hot Sauce

A hot sauce that takes its cue from the curry house: slow-cooked onion and garlic, whole Indian spices and the fruity heat of Naga chillies. Big Ginger Sauce Co, run by Pete from the village of Pirbright in Surrey, cooks it in house in small batches.

Passata and onions lead, then mixed hot chillies at 10.8% and Naga chillies at 7.3%, with garlic, cider vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, a barley vinegar and a mixed spice blend that contains mustard. The maker rates it four out of five for heat and describes an initial hit of sweet, super slow-cooked onion and garlic, a complex mix of Indian whole spices, and the fruity heat of the Naga. The lemon and ginger keep it bright under the burn.

The maker says it goes very well with smoky barbecue food and curried dishes, and is also good dripped on a pizza, splashed into a wrap, or as a dip for a grilled cheese sandwich. Put it on the table on curry night next to a jar of Stokes Spiced Mango Chutney, or spoon it over a dal. If it is too much, the Angel sauce from the same kitchen sits a notch lower.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
