Kent & Fraser Olive, Walnut & Pimenton Toast 110g

Olive, Walnut and Pimenton Toast is a 110g box of light, crisp, twice-baked toasts made from a gluten-free blend of rice, gram, corn and tapioca flours. Kent & Fraser bake them in London, where they have worked only with gluten-free and wheat-free recipes since 2009.

Black olives make up 14% and walnuts 10%. Two Spanish paprikas go in, smoked pimenton de la Vera and hot pimenton picante, with mixed herbs, garlic powder and black pepper. The producer describes the toasts as light and crisp with the flavours of Andalusian olives, walnut kernels and smoky pimenton. The result is savoury, a little smoky and gently warm from the hot paprika, with a bitter edge from the walnuts.

The producer suggests them on their own as a snack, with your favourite cheese, or for dipping. They are good with a goat's cheese such as Rosary Ash Goat's Cheese Log or a hard cheese like Quicke's Mature Cheddar, and they hold up to charcuterie, hummus and Garlic and Chilli Mayonnaise.
