Farmhouse Biscuits Oat Flip Biscuits 200g

Oat Flips are wheat-free oat biscuits, 49% rolled oats, in a 200g pack. Farmhouse Biscuits bake them in Nelson, Lancashire, where the McIvor family moved the bakery in 1978 after starting out in a farmhouse kitchen in 1962, and still work to family recipes and traditional methods.

The recipe is short: rolled oats, rapeseed and sustainable palm oils, sugar, salt and flavourings. No wheat flour, no butter, no eggs. Nearly half the biscuit is oats, so it eats as an oat biscuit should, with a coarse crumb and a crunch, and the sweetness is modest. The producer says once you taste them you will understand why they are so popular.

The producer suggests them with a spread of butter, or alongside tea or coffee. They dunk well in a mug of Brew Tea Co. English Breakfast, and they make a plain, sturdy partner for a crumbly Lancashire cheese such as Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire or a spoon of Mrs Darlington's Lemon Curd.

A 200g pack. Contains gluten from oats, and may contain egg, milk, soya and tree nuts. The producer lists them as suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Keep them in a tin once opened.
