Cartwright & Butler Christmas Chutney 250g

A 250g jar of apple, red wine and cranberry chutney for the Christmas table, from Cartwright & Butler, the Arnett family firm based at Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Apples are 29% of the recipe, with onion, 9% red wine, 7% cranberries, cider vinegar, dried apricots, prunes and stem ginger. The spicing is black pepper, nigella seeds, nutmeg, chilli powder and ground cinnamon.

It is a chutney for cold turkey and ham and for the cheeseboard. Put it beside Long Clawson Blue Stilton or Quicke's Mature Clothbound Cheddar, with Peter's Yard Original Sourdough Crackers underneath.

250g jar. Contains sulphites, and is made with red wine. May contain gluten, eggs, soya, nuts, mustard and milk, and may contain fruit stones. Refrigerate once opened.
