A 200g tin of butter biscuits with glazed cherries and almonds, baked by Cartwright & Butler, the Arnett family's bakery at Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Cherries are 9% of the recipe and ground and flaked almonds 4%, in a dough made with 26% salted butter and 10% oats, plus almond flavouring. The baker describes handfuls of glazed red cherries with a generous helping of ground almonds, and recommends the biscuits with a mug of steaming hot tea.
Take the baker's advice and make a pot of Tregothnan English Breakfast or Brew Tea Co. English Breakfast. Cherry and almond is the Bakewell combination, so they also do well as a pudding biscuit with a cup of Cornish Coffee The Original after lunch.
200g of biscuits in a clip-lid tin. Contains wheat (gluten), milk, oats, almonds, egg and sulphites. May contain traces of other nuts, soya and mustard. Store in a cool, dry place and keep airtight once opened.
