Tregothnan English Breakfast Tea Sachets

Twenty-five individually foil-wrapped tea bags of Cornish-grown black tea blended with Assam, from Tregothnan at Tresillian, near Truro in Cornwall, the estate that planted England's first tea garden in 1999 and now puts in around 20,000 bushes a year across 150 acres. Up to 38 varieties of the estate's own Camellia sinensis go into the blend.

The estate describes the cup as bold, malty and rich. The Assam supplies the malt and the depth you expect from a breakfast tea; the Cornish leaf, grown in a mild creek-side microclimate, is the lighter, brighter part of the blend. It is a strong, straightforward morning tea that can be drunk with or without milk and sweetened with honey or sugar if you like.

Use water just off the boil and steep one bag for two to four minutes; the estate suggests tasting at three. It is built for breakfast, so pour it with toast and Mrs Darlington's Three Fruit Marmalade, or make a pot mid-morning with a Kent & Fraser Lemon Butter Shortbread. The foil wrapping makes the box a sensible one for an office drawer or a guest room.

Delivery

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
