Cornish Coffee The Original Ground Coffee

The Original is a medium-dark roast ground coffee from Cornish Coffee, roasted, blended and packed at Redruth in Cornwall by the same family firm behind Cornish Tea, who produce and pack everything at their own factory in the county. A 227g bag.

The beans are a blend from Latin America and East Asia, and the only ingredient is coffee. The producer describes it as smooth and well-rounded, with gentle honey and vanilla undertones rounded off with a roasted peanut, malty finish, and that is a fair account of the cup: medium body, no harsh bitterness, a nutty and slightly sweet character, and enough weight to take milk without disappearing. It is the everyday blend of the range rather than a showpiece, which is its strength.

The grind suits cafetières, filter machines and home brewers, in the producer's words, so brew it however you already do. Have it black with breakfast, or with milk alongside a Farmhouse Biscuits Oat Flip Biscuits at eleven.
