Very Lazy Chopped Garlic 200g

A jar of chopped garlic kept in white wine vinegar, made by Very Lazy of Newbury in Berkshire so that the peeling and chopping is already done. The whole point of the product is in the name.

There are two ingredients: white wine vinegar and dried garlic. The maker describes it as an easy way to add a hit of garlic to any meal, and gives the measure as one teaspoon to one clove. The vinegar keeps the garlic and adds a faint sharpness of its own, which disappears once it hits a hot pan, so this is garlic for cooking rather than for rubbing on bread raw. The jar is vegan.

Spoon it into the pan at the start of a curry, a stir-fry or a pasta sauce, stir it through butter for garlic bread, or whisk a teaspoon into a dressing with Aspall White Wine Vinegar and olive oil. It saves a job on a weeknight and it does not leave your fingers smelling. For a whole roast, add a spoon to the tray with the potatoes.
