The Natural Spa Lemon Calendula Body Scrub 200g

A 200g tin of sugar body scrub with apricot kernel oil, lemongrass, calendula and a little turmeric, made by The Natural Spa in East Devon.

Sugar is gentler on skin than salt and dissolves as you rinse, so the scrub polishes rather than scratches. The apricot kernel oil leaves skin feeling moisturised and refreshed afterwards. The lemongrass gives it a sharp, clean lemon smell, and turmeric adds a warm yellow colour.

Scoop out a small amount, rub it over wet skin in circles, then rinse and pat dry. Once or twice a week is plenty. Keep water out of the tin so the scrub stays fresh. It makes a good pairing with the Spiced Orange Bath Soak, and the Wildflower Wisp Soap on a Rope finishes off a pamper set. The maker suggests checking the best before date on the tin, as the scrub is made fresh in small batches.

The Natural Spa was started in 2016 by Zoe Strassen, then 18 and fresh from a chef apprenticeship, in a shed at the bottom of her parents' garden. It now works from a small workshop at Woodbury Salterton in East Devon, making everything by hand in small batches.
