Taylors Loose Leaf English Breakfast Tea is a 125g pack of black tea for the pot. Taylors of Harrogate blend it in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, where the family business has been established since 1886 and describes its way of working as doing things properly, without shortcuts.

The ingredient list is one line: black tea. English Breakfast is the traditional strong morning blend, and in loose leaf form you set the strength yourself by how much leaf you spoon into the pot and how long you leave it. Use about one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot, water just off the boil, and three to five minutes depending on how you like it. It takes milk well, and holds up to a splash of it without going thin.

It is the tea for breakfast with toast and Mrs Darlington's Medium Cut Orange Marmalade, and for the afternoon with a plate of Farmhouse Biscuits Shortbread Rings or a slice of fruit cake. Anyone who prefers a sweeter finish to the cup could look at the tea and coffee collection for something flavoured.
