Mrs Darlington's Medium Cut Orange Marmalade

Mrs Darlington's Medium Cut Orange Marmalade is a Seville orange marmalade made near Nantwich in Cheshire by a family preserves firm that has been cooking on its own account since 1980. The founder still oversees every recipe, and marmalade was one of the first lines added after the lemon curd.

It is prepared with 38g of fruit per 100g, from sugar, Seville oranges, water, orange juice, lemon juice, pectin and orange oil, with no added colour or preservatives. Seville oranges are the bitter kind, so the marmalade has the proper bitter edge under the sugar, the lemon juice keeps it sharp, and the orange oil lifts the scent. The producer calls it refreshing and zingy. Medium cut means shreds of peel you can see and chew, without the toast becoming a mouthful of rind.

Toast and butter is the obvious use. The producer also gives recipes for a marmalade fruit loaf and a sticky orange marmalade cake, and a spoonful glazes a ham or a tray of roast carrots. Put it on the breakfast table beside a pot of Tregothnan English Breakfast Tea, or spread it on Peter's Yard Original Sourdough Crackers with a hard cheese.

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
