Stokes build theirs on date purée and black treacle, layered with a spice blend of their own, which is why this English brown sauce tastes fuller and rounder than the supermarket standard: fruity first, savoury underneath, with a warmth that builds gently rather than bites. It is made at Rendlesham Hall in Suffolk by Stokes Sauces, whose promise has always been taste without compromise.

It earns its keep well beyond the full English breakfast. Try it with sausages and mash, in a bacon sandwich, spread thin in a cheese toastie before it hits the pan, stirred into a beef stew for extra depth, or alongside a pork pie and a sharp cheddar at lunch.

Delivery

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.
