Otter Vale Devon Fire Chutney

Otter Vale make their preserves in Ottery St Mary, Devon, and the Devon Fire Chutney applies the patience that characterises good preserve-making to a chutney with genuine heat. The fire in the name is accurate: this is a chutney with a chilli presence that builds rather than fades, balanced against the sweetness and acidity that make it worth eating rather than merely enduring.

The heat does not overwhelm the underlying chutney character, the fruit, the vinegar, the slow-cooked depth are all present and working alongside the spice. A chutney that works with strong cheese, cold meats and anything that benefits from contrast against its richness.

Delivery

Because we send food and drink, we keep transit times short and never let parcels sit in depots over the weekend. All orders are dispatched Monday to Thursday and delivered next day via DPD or APC Overnight, depending on contents.

Non-liquid orders travel with DPD and include a one-hour delivery window, so you know exactly when to expect your parcel. Orders containing wine, spirits or other liquids are sent via APC Overnight's specialist liquid service, where parcels are hand-sorted and kept in dedicated cages throughout transit.

Order by 12pm (midday) for next-day delivery. Orders placed after midday on Thursday, or over the weekend, are dispatched the following Monday. We do not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays.

Standard delivery is £4.95, free on orders over £50.

Returns

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the outer packaging, inner packaging, and affected item as received.

Please keep all packaging until we have reviewed the issue, as we may be unable to assess damage claims where the item or packaging has been discarded.
