Montezuma's Milk Chocolate Gingerbread Bar 90g

A 90g bar of 30% milk chocolate with crystallised ginger, ground ginger and nutmeg from Montezuma's, who have made chocolate at Chichester in West Sussex for more than twenty years.

The bar is 93% milk chocolate with 5% crystallised ginger, 1% ground ginger, nutmeg and a pinch of sea salt. The crystallised ginger gives chewy pieces and a slow heat, the ground ginger and nutmeg give the gingerbread smell, and the salt keeps it from being merely sweet. The maker describes it as creamy milk chocolate with the warm, spicy kick of crystallised ginger. No palm oil, no colourings, no preservatives, and the box and wrap both recycle.

A bar for a cold December evening with a hot drink, or for a stocking or a Christmas Eve box. It pairs with the Little's Christmas Spirit coffee, which shares the spice, and with the Blonde Chocolate Gingerbread Men from the same maker if the present is for a child.
