Little's Christmas Spirit Flavour Instant Coffee 50g

A 50g jar of Christmas Spirit flavoured instant coffee from Little's in Willand, Devon, where the family makes every jar from freeze-dried Arabica coffee infused with flavour and nothing else.

Two ingredients: freeze-dried Arabica coffee and flavourings. The flavours are orange, brandy, cinnamon and vanilla, so the cup smells of Christmas cake and tastes of coffee first, with the spice and orange behind it. No sugar, no sweeteners, no milk powder, and the maker says a cup comes in at 4 calories before you add anything. The maker's own suggestion is to light a candle, put the Christmas music on and drink it with a mince pie and clotted cream.

One to two teaspoons in a mug, a splash of hot water to dissolve the granules, then top up with hot water or warm milk. It is the coffee for a December afternoon with one of the Farmhouse Biscuits tins open, or a mid-morning cup on Christmas Day. It comes in a trio with two other winter flavours in the Full-On Festive Gift Set, and the rest of the year there is French Vanilla.
