Montezuma's Blonde Chocolate Gingerbread Men 60g

Four solid blonde chocolate gingerbread men in a 60g pack from Montezuma's, who have made chocolate at Chichester in West Sussex for more than twenty years. Part of the maker's Festive Characters range.

Blonde chocolate is white chocolate taken further: the sugar and milk solids are caramelised, so it tastes of caramel and butter rather than vanilla. Each figure is solid chocolate through and through, with no filling and no biscuit. The ingredients are sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, whey, milk fat and butter with sunflower lecithin and natural vanilla, and the maker makes a point of using no palm oil. The box and the inner wrap both recycle.

These are for a Christmas Eve box, a stocking, or tucked into a card for a colleague, and the maker suggests handing them out one a day as a countdown. They are a step up from the gingerbread biscuit for a child, and adults who like caramel will take one too. The Milk Chocolate Gingerbread Bar from the same maker carries the actual ginger if you want the spice as well as the shape.
