Tregothnan Peppermint Loose Leaf Tea Pyramids

Whole English peppermint leaves, nothing else, packed by Tregothnan at Tresillian, near Truro in Cornwall, the estate that grows and blends its own tea and herbs, into fifteen silken cornstarch pyramids. Whole leaf rather than powder is the point: it brews clean and clear without the bitterness that finely cut mint can give.

The estate calls it fabulously cooling and invigorating, full of flavour, smooth and refreshing, and naturally sweet. It is naturally caffeine-free, so it does the job of a strong after-dinner cup without keeping anyone awake. There is no added flavouring, no sugar and no black tea underneath it.

Infuse one pyramid for four to five minutes and serve without milk. The estate suggests it as an after-dinner digestif and as a cold-brewed iced drink on a hot day: leave a pyramid in a jug of cold water in the fridge overnight and pour it over ice. It is the cup to follow a big lunch of Quicke's Mature Clothbound Cheddar and Peter's Yard Original Sourdough Crackers, and a square of dark chocolate on the side does no harm.

Delivery

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
