Hodmedod's British Grown Red & White Quinoa
Most quinoa travels thousands of miles from South America. This doesn't. Hodmedod's grow theirs on English farms — the white by Peter Fairs in Essex, the red in the West Country — proof that a crop everyone assumes is foreign grows perfectly well here.
A blend of red and white grains, nutty and light with no bitterness, cooked just like any quinoa: rinse, simmer in stock for fifteen minutes, fluff with a fork. The two colours come into their own in a salad or as a side. A British-grown alternative to rice or couscous. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
