Farmhouse Biscuits Salted Caramel Biscuits in Embossed Christmas Tree Tin 400g

A 400g tin embossed with a Christmas tree, filled with salted caramel biscuits from Farmhouse Biscuits, baked in Nelson, Lancashire, where the McIvor family moved the bakery in 1978 after starting out in a farmhouse kitchen in 1962.

The biscuit is wheat flour, vegetable oils and sugar with 8% salted caramel pieces, which are made with butter, glucose syrup and coconut oil and soften slightly in the bake so each biscuit has chewy pockets of caramel in a crisp shell. There is salt in the dough as well as in the caramel, so the sweetness is checked. The bakery has made biscuits to its own recipes since 1962, and this is its salted caramel one in the largest tin.

A tin for the table on Christmas afternoon, with a pot of Taylors tea or a strong coffee such as Cornish Coffee Stupidly Strong to set against the caramel. The embossed tin is a keepsake, and it is the right size to send as a present on its own.
