Farmhouse Biscuits Oat Flips in Embossed Vintage Van Tin 400g

A 400g embossed tin with the Farmhouse Biscuits delivery van on the lid, filled with the bakery's best-selling Oat Flips, baked in Nelson, Lancashire, where the McIvor family moved the bakery in 1978 after starting out in a farmhouse kitchen in 1962.

Oat Flips are wheat-free oat biscuits, 49% rolled oats with rapeseed and sustainable palm oils and sugar. Nearly half the biscuit is oats, so it eats with a coarse crumb and a crunch, and the sweetness is modest. No butter and no egg, which is why the maker labels them vegan. The tin is the point here: a keepsake with the van embossed into the lid, the sort of thing that ends up holding buttons or string for years.

Butter them, or dunk them in a mug of Brew Tea Co. English Breakfast. They are a plain, sturdy partner for a crumbly Lancashire cheese such as Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire, and the tin makes a present for someone who likes a biscuit with their tea rather than a chocolate box. The same biscuits come without the tin as Oat Flip Biscuits 200g.
