Chococo Delightful Dark 72% Ecuador Origin Chocolate Bar

Delightful Dark is a 75g bar of 72% single-estate Ecuador dark chocolate with nothing added. Chococo sell it from Swanage, Dorset, where the Burnet family have made chocolate since 2002; this blend is produced for them at origin by Martinetti Cocoa, a family firm in Quevedo, from Arriba beans grown at Hacienda Zoilita in Los Rios province.

The recipe is cocoa mass, cane sugar, cocoa butter and sunflower lecithin, so no milk and no soya. The producer describes it as moreish, with purple fruit notes and a smooth, soft finish, and the chocolate won a Gold Great Taste Award in 2023. Because the beans come from a single 200-hectare farm bought directly, the supply chain is traceable from farm to bar.

Eat it slowly on its own or with black coffee. It is the right dark chocolate to grate over a chocolate tart, to melt into a mousse, or to put beside a slice of Long Clawson Blue Stilton at the end of a meal. For a comparison tasting, line it up with Chocolarder Ashaninka 72% from Cornwall.

The bar weighs 75g and comes in a recyclable paper pouch inside a cardboard box, with no plastic. The producer lists it as plant-based and vegan-friendly. No major allergens are declared. Store cool and dry.

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
