Dorset Tea Ginger & Lemon Herbal Infusion is blended by Dorset Tea at Blandford Forum in Dorset, a firm whose founder started blending tea in his Bournemouth kitchen in 1934. The producer sells it as Ginger & Sunshine Lemon and describes it as warming ginger and zingy lemon.

Ginger is the main ingredient at 35%, then lemon peel at 25% and lemongrass at 17%, with linden flowers, blackberry leaves and natural lemon and lime flavours. There is no tea leaf in it at all, so there is no caffeine. The ginger gives it a warmth that builds in the throat, the lemon peel and lemongrass give it the citrus lift, and the linden and blackberry leaves round it out so it does not taste thin.

The producer's brewing note is one bag per cup, freshly boiled water, and three to five minutes. Drink it in the evening in place of a black tea, first thing with a spoonful of Tregothnan Manuka Honey stirred in, or when you have a cold and want something hot and sharp. It also brews well double strength and chilled, topped up with Belvoir Freshly Squeezed Lemonade.
