Cox & Co. Blood Orange Crunch Dark Chocolate Bar

A 70g bar of Colombian dark chocolate with blood orange oil and roasted cacao nibs, made by Cox & Co, who work with single-origin Colombian chocolate and add flavour to it rather than changing the base. The bar is 95% chocolate, 4% roasted Colombian cacao nibs and under 1% blood orange oil.

The chocolate is 60% cocoa, made from cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, soya lecithin and vanilla extract. The blood orange comes as an oil, so the citrus is bright and aromatic rather than sweet or jammy, and it sits on top of the cocoa the way orange peel does in a good marmalade. The nibs are roasted cacao broken into pieces, and they give the bar its crunch and a bitter, roasted edge that keeps the orange from taking over.

It is a bar for after dinner with a small cup of Cornish Coffee Stupidly Strong, or for melting into a chocolate orange mousse where the nibs can go in at the end. Chopped, it makes a good addition to biscuits or a brownie. A square with a glass of The One Fine Blended Whisky is a decent way to end an evening.

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
