Cartwright & Butler Lemon Zest Shortbread Rounds in Carton 150g

A 150g carton of lemon shortbread rounds, from Cartwright & Butler, the Arnett family firm based at Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Salted butter is 34% of the recipe, and the lemon comes three ways: 1.6% lemon zest, 0.9% lemon juice from concentrate and 0.1% lemon oil, with sea salt. The maker describes a zesty, lemony shortbread made with heaps of butter and a hint of citrus zest, a bright, zingy twist on a comforting classic.

A natural match for Tregothnan Earl Grey, or for Tregothnan Lemon Verbena if you want lemon with lemon. They are also good with a bowl of raspberries or a lemon posset.

150g of shortbread in a carton. Contains wheat (gluten), milk and sulphites. May contain eggs, nuts, soya and mustard. Once opened, keep in an airtight tin.
