Tregothnan Lemon Verbena Loose Leaf Tea Pyramids

Fifteen pyramid bags of pure lemon verbena, grown, cut and packed by Tregothnan on their estate at Tresillian, near Truro in Cornwall, the same gardens where England's first home-grown tea was planted in 1999. There is one ingredient: lemon verbena leaf grown in Cornwall, cut rather than powdered, and sealed in silken cornstarch pyramids.

The estate describes the infusion as having a wonderfully rich lemon scent and a piquant taste. It brews pale and clear, all citrus, with none of the bitterness that black tea can carry, and because it is a herb rather than a tea leaf it is naturally caffeine-free. Nothing is added: no flavouring, no dried lemon peel, no sweetener.

Infuse one pyramid in freshly boiled water for four to five minutes; the estate suggests at least four, and the bag can stay in the cup if you like it stronger. Serve without milk. Sweeten with honey if you want to, though it does not need it. It is a good cup after dinner or last thing at night, and it is at home beside something buttery such as Kent & Fraser Lemon Butter Shortbread. Cold-brewed overnight in a jug it makes a clean iced drink for a warm afternoon.

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
