A 200g tin of oat biscuits with whole dried cranberries, baked by Cartwright & Butler, the Arnett family's bakery at Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Dried cranberries are 22% of the recipe, in a biscuit made with 26% salted butter and 9% oats. The baker says whole dried cranberries are added to its oaty, crumbly biscuit and baked with sugar and butter to an open crumb with a slightly chewy texture. The tin is pink, with the baker's clip lid.
They are sweet biscuits, but the oats and fruit mean they sit happily beside a Lancashire cheese such as Shorrocks Lancashire Bomb. Otherwise a pot of Tregothnan English Breakfast and a plate of these is enough.
200g of biscuits in a clip-lid tin. Contains wheat (gluten), milk, oats and egg. May contain nuts, mustard and soya. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and keep airtight once opened.
