Salted butter is 30% of the recipe, milk chocolate chunks 7% and orange pieces 6%, with natural orange flavouring. The orange pieces are a fruit preparation made from apple purée and orange juice. The maker describes its chocolate and orange shortbread as generously filled with milk chocolate chunks and zesty orange pieces.
Chocolate and orange is an after-dinner flavour, so put these out with coffee: Cornish Coffee The Original suits them. At teatime, the bergamot in Tregothnan Earl Grey picks up the orange.
