Brown Bag Crisps Tiger Prawn with Hint of Chilli & Lime 40g

A 40g bag of hand-cooked potato crisps seasoned with dried cooked prawns, chilli and lime. Brown Bag Crisps fry them in Cullompton, Devon, from sliced potatoes and rapeseed oil, then add an 8% seasoning that includes real prawn rather than a flavouring alone.

The seasoning lists sugar, lactose and salt first, then garlic and onion, dried vinegar, tomato powder, dried lemon and lime juice, chilli and the dried cooked prawns, with cumin and paprika extract at the end. The producer describes it as succulent prawn with a hint of chilli and a twist of lime, and calls the flavour zingy. In the mouth that is sweet and savoury seafood first, a citrus lift, then a low chilli warmth that never takes over. It took a Great Taste star in 2024.

Serve them with drinks: a cold lager, a gin and tonic made with Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic Water, or a glass of Lyme Bay Winery Chardonnay. They also make a good side to a bowl of noodles or a prawn sandwich, and a handful on a board with Mr Filbert's Chilli & Lime Peanuts keeps the theme going.
