Mr Filbert's Chilli & Lime Peanuts

Roasted peanuts tumbled in chilli, lemon zest, lime oil, ginger and cumin. Mr Filbert's, who season their nuts in Charlton Mackrell, Somerset, work in small batches with fresh herbs and real aromatics, and here the citrus comes from zest and oil rather than a flavouring.

Peanuts make up 92% of the bag. The seasoning is sugar, 1.5% lemon zest, salt, ginger, 0.7% chilli, cumin, rapeseed oil, citric acid and 0.2% lime oil. The maker describes them as bursting with citrus and spice for a tongue-tingling sensation. With chilli under 1% the heat is a warmth rather than a burn, the citrus is sharp and forward, and the cumin and ginger give a savoury base. The maker lists them as vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.

They are made for a cold drink: a Gusto Organic Real Cola, a lager, or a margarita if the evening is going that way. Serve them alongside tacos or a bowl of guacamole, or chop them over a mango and chilli salad. A bag in a coat pocket also improves a long walk, and a couple of bags in a hamper give it some bite.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
