Brown Bag Crisps Oak Smoked Chilli 150g

A 150g sharing bag of hand-cooked potato crisps seasoned with oak smoke and Scotch bonnet chilli. Brown Bag Crisps fry them in Shepperton, Surrey, where Phil and Viv began the business in 2010 by cooking and seasoning crisps at home until the crunch and flavour were right.

The crisps are potatoes and sunflower oil with an 8% seasoning, and that seasoning is where the work is: oak smoked sugar and oak smoked salt for the smoke, both chilli and Scotch bonnet chilli for the heat, with garlic, onion, cumin and tomato powder underneath. The producer says the smoke comes from sustainably grown oak and describes the chillies as a punch, so expect proper warmth that builds through the bag rather than a mild tingle. Great Taste gave it a star in 2019.

This is a bag for the table rather than the lunchbox. Pour it into a bowl for a barbecue or a film night, put it next to a cold beer or a Belvoir Ginger Beer, and keep a pot of Stokes Garlic Mayonnaise nearby for anyone who wants to cool the chilli down. They also stand up to a crumbly cheese such as Shorrocks Lancashire Bomb on a snack board.

One 150g bag. No major allergens are declared, and the producer lists the crisps as vegan, gluten free and dairy free.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
