Belvoir Elderflower Cordial 500ml

A 500ml bottle of elderflower cordial from Belvoir in Bottesford, Leicestershire, made from masses of hand-picked elderflowers to a family recipe that has been made at home for more than 50 years. The flowers are picked by hand on the farm, only when they are ready.

The recipe is what you would make yourself if you had the hedgerows: sugar, spring water, 8% fresh elderflowers, fresh lemon juice and citric acid. No artificial ingredients and no sweeteners. The farm describes the taste as naturally delicate and floral, and the lemon stops it becoming cloying. Dilute it one part to ten with still or sparkling water.

With sparkling water and ice it is the summer drink most people mean when they say elderflower. It is also useful in the kitchen and behind the bar: a splash in a glass of Warner's London Dry Gin with tonic, a spoonful stirred into the syrup for a lemon drizzle cake, or drizzled over a fruit salad. Pour a jug of it at afternoon tea beside a plate of Kent & Fraser Lemon Butter Shortbread.

We send food and drink, so parcels never wait in depots over the weekend. Order by midday, Monday to Thursday, for next-day delivery: DPD with a one-hour window for most orders, APC Overnight's specialist liquid service for anything containing wine, spirits or other liquids. Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
