West Country Legends Proper Job Piccalilli

West Country Legends make their preserves in Glastonbury, Somerset, and the Proper Job Piccalilli earns its name by being a proper piccalilli rather than a pale approximation of one. Chunky, sharp, properly mustardy with a good vinegar back note, the kind that provides genuine contrast rather than just colour on the plate.

The vegetables are in recognisable pieces, the mustard is present throughout, and the overall character is balanced in the way that a well-made piccalilli should be: sharp enough to cut through rich foods, sweet enough to be pleasant on its own.
