Tiptree Strawberry & Champagne Conserve 340g

Tiptree Strawberry & Champagne Conserve is made by Wilkin & Sons on their estate at Tiptree in Essex, where the firm has been making strawberry conserve since 1885 and still uses fruit from its own farm. The producer calls this one a true classic with a little added sparkle.

It is prepared with 55g of fruit per 100g, from sugar, strawberries, Champagne at 4%, citrus pectin and citric acid. The producer describes rich fruit with balanced sweetness, and the Champagne as a subtle touch rather than a headline. In practice the strawberry does the talking, the citric acid keeps it bright, and the wine gives the finish a faint dryness that the plain strawberry conserve does not have.

Wilkin & Sons suggest it on warm toast, layered into pastries, or with scones and cream, and a cream tea is where it shines. Spoon it onto a warm scone with clotted cream, spread it in a Victoria sponge, or set it out for afternoon tea beside Kent & Fraser Lemon Butter Shortbread and a glass of Nyetimber Classic Cuvée to carry the theme through.

Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
