The Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve No.7

The seventh and final release in The Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve series, and a single malt distilled, matured and bottled at The Lakes Distillery beside Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria. English single malt from still to bottle.

The series is whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi's work towards a sherry-led house style for The Lakes, each release building on the one before. No.7 brings it to a close. It was matured in Oloroso, PX and red wine casks and bottled at 52% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour.

On the nose: sandalwood, almond friands and orchard fruits, with a touch of baking spice. On the palate: rich and creamy, with honeyed fruits, currants and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is creamy and fragrant, with warming spice and cocoa nibs.

No.7 won a Grand Gold Medal at the 25th Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Gold at the World Whiskies Awards 2024 and Gold at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition.

Drink it neat, or add a few drops of water to open it up. A bottle for someone who knows their whisky, or the last piece for anyone collecting the series.

Allergens: cereals containing gluten (barley).
