Montezuma's Dark Chocolate Cherry & Pistachio Bar 90g

A 90g bar of 58% dark chocolate with freeze-dried cherry and nibbed pistachio from Montezuma's, who have made chocolate at Chichester in West Sussex for more than twenty years.

The bar is 95% dark chocolate, made with cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter and natural cocoa powder, with 2.5% pistachio, 2% freeze-dried cherry and cherry oil. The maker's own words are tart cherry pieces and buttery roasted pistachios, and that is the balance: the cherry cuts through the chocolate, the pistachio gives the crunch. No palm oil, no colourings, no preservatives, and the outer box and inner wrap both recycle.

Eat it slowly with a coffee after dinner, or break it onto a cheeseboard next to a blue such as Long Clawson Blue Stilton, where the cherry does the job of a chutney. It is a stocking filler for the person who likes dark chocolate, and it sits alongside the Chocolarder bars for anyone building a chocolate hamper.
