Quiggin's
In the centre of Kendal, at Lowfellside, Quiggin's boils sugar in large open copper pans and pours every bar of mint cake by hand. The firm goes back to 1840, when William Quiggin started a confectionery business on the Isle of Man. His son Daniel moved to Kendal in 1872 and was soon making mint cake.
