Tracklements Proper Tomato Ketchup is a plain, well-made tomato sauce that Tracklements make at Easton Grey near Malmesbury in Wiltshire with Mediterranean tomatoes and a subtle blend of spices. The producer describes it as simple, hearty and no nonsense.

Tomato puree makes up 61% of the bottle, with water, raw cane sugar, spirit vinegar, lemon juice and sea salt, and a quiet seasoning of cloves, allspice and black pepper. The producer says it tastes as fresh as a vine-ripened tomato, with the flavour but without the excessive sweetness that cheap ketchups rely on. It is thick enough to sit on a chip and has a light, warm spice at the end.

The producer suggests it in a bacon or sausage butty, with hot, fluffy chips or any barbecued meat, and as part of a full English breakfast. It also belongs beside a fish finger sandwich, a burger or a plate of scampi, and it works as a base for a quick barbecue glaze or in a cocktail sauce for prawns.
