Tiptree Large Boxed Christmas Pudding 908g

A 908g Christmas pudding in a Tiptree ceramic basin with a tie-on cloth, boxed, serving six to eight. It is made in Essex for Tiptree by Wilkin & Sons' sister company Cole's Puddings, to the Tiptree recipe.

Vine fruits are 30% of the pudding: sultanas, currants and raisins, with brown sugar, cider, candied citrus peel, free range eggs and a good measure of Tiptree's own Tawny orange marmalade, then brandy, rapeseed oil and mixed spice. There is no suet or palm oil, no nuts as an ingredient, and it is dairy free, so it is a lighter, fruitier pudding than the heavy Victorian kind. The marmalade gives it a bitter orange edge that stops it being cloying.

Steam it for the traditional finish or microwave it if the oven is full, then serve with Tiptree Brandy Butter or cream. The box makes it a straightforward gift for someone hosting Christmas.
