Drivers have been pickling in Leicestershire since 1906, when Frederick Charles Driver turned the family grocery trade into a dedicated pickle and vinegar company. Four generations on, the same family still runs it.

Whole onions, hand-peeled and steeped in the house spiced vinegar — black and white peppercorns, mustard seed and a touch of birds eye chilli.

Firm, sharp and warming, the way a proper pickled onion should be. Sit them alongside a wedge of cheese and cold cuts, or beside a ploughman's.

Net weight 550g. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
