Mrs Darlington's Mango Chutney

Mrs Darlington's Mango Chutney is made near Nantwich in Cheshire by a family firm that has cooked its own preserves since 1980. The maker's description is short and to the point: the partner for poppadoms and pakoras.

Peeled mango slices make up 46% of the jar, cooked with sugar, sugarcane vinegar, salt, chilli powder, ginger powder and garlic powder, with no added colour or preservative. It is a sweet chutney with soft pieces of fruit and a gentle background of spice, warm rather than hot, with the vinegar keeping it lively.

Beyond the curry table it has plenty of uses: it lifts a coronation chicken, goes into a cheese toastie with a sharp cheddar, glazes chicken or pork on the barbecue, and works in a ham sandwich in place of pickle. It also has a place on a cheeseboard beside a hard, salty cheese.

Orders after midday Thursday, or over the weekend, dispatch on Monday.

Cheese is cut fresh to order and sent chilled, dispatched every Monday and Wednesday. Everything in your order ships together in one insulated box, arriving the next day.
