Pip and Nut Crunchy Almond Butter

Sale price£4.50

Two ingredients. Almonds and a sprinkle of sea salt. That's it.

A 225g jar of crunchy almond butter from Pip & Nut, the London-founded B Corp set up by Pip Murray in 2013 from her kitchen table when she was training for marathons and couldn't find a clean nut butter she actually wanted to eat.

The almonds are Californian — short, plump kernels selected from four out of fifty varieties, chosen for the rounded nutty flavour they take on when roasted. Ground until the butter is thick and spoonable, then folded with crunchy almond pieces. Almonds make up 99.6% of what's in the jar. The other 0.4% is sea salt.

No palm oil. No added sugar. No emulsifiers. The oil separates naturally — give the jar a stir before you use it.

Stir into porridge. Spread on sourdough toast. Swirl through Greek yoghurt with sliced banana. Bake into cookies. Or eat it straight from the jar with a spoon, which is the producer's own stated preference.

A source of protein, fibre and vitamin E. High in monounsaturated fats — the same family as those found in olive oil and avocados.

B Corp certified. Carbon-neutral as a company. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Naturally gluten-free.

Refrigerate after opening; consume within three months.
