Charbonnel et Walker Boite Rouge Chocolate Selection 310g

A round red box of milk and dark chocolates and truffles from Charbonnel et Walker, made at Poundbury in Dorset. It is the smaller version of the house's 500g Boite Rouge, tied with a gold Charbonnel et Walker ribbon. The firm has been making chocolates to the recipes of Madame Charbonnel since it opened on Bond Street in London in 1875.

Inside is a set selection rather than a pick and mix. The maker lists Cecily milk and dark chocolates, pistachio truffles, milk coconut creams, milk sea salt caramel truffles, tiramisu truffles, milk chocolate crowns, dark orange creams, dark vanilla fudge and milk chocolate truffles among the pieces, each sitting in its own compartment. Everything in the box is made without alcohol, so it works for a house with children or for anyone who avoids it.

This is the box to take to Christmas dinner as a thank you to the host, or to give when a single bar would look a little thin. Lift the lid and it can go straight on the table with the coffee.

A 310g box. Contains milk, soya, hazelnuts, pistachio nuts and walnuts, and may contain traces of other nuts, cereals containing gluten and egg. Contains no alcohol. Keep somewhere cool.
