Summerdown Farm

Summerdown grows Black Mitcham peppermint on around 70 acres of its farm near Basingstoke in Hampshire. Every plant descends from a handful of cuttings that Sir Michael Colman and Ian, the farm's Master of Mint, tracked down in the early 1990s. The oil is steam distilled on the farm soon after harvest, then rested and aged in barrels.
