Kent & Fraser Cranberry & Almond Toast 110g

Cranberry and Almond Toast is a 110g box of thin, twice-baked crisp toasts made without wheat, from a gluten-free flour blend of rice, corn, tapioca and gram. Kent & Fraser bake them in London as a producer devoted entirely to gluten-free and wheat-free baking since 2009.

Cranberries make up 14% and almonds 12%, with dates, sunflower seeds, molasses, orange zest, mixed spice and a little black pepper in the dough. The producer describes them as a beautiful crisp toast, and says they are nearly too pretty to eat. Sweet fruit, nutty crunch and a warm spice note from the mixed spice, with the pepper just in the background.

They are made for soft cheese. Lay one under a slice of Tunworth or a spoonful of Bath Soft Cheese, or put the box out with a wedge of blue and a jar of Rosebud Preserves Quince Jelly at Christmas. They also stand up to pate, and the producer suggests eating them plain as a snack.

A 110g box. Contains nuts (almonds); no gluten-containing ingredients. Keep the box sealed once opened so the toasts stay crisp.
