Pump Street Madagascar & Sea Salt 55%

A 55% dark milk chocolate from Madagascan cocoa, with Welsh sea salt ground into it. Pump Street Chocolate, the family-run bakers and chocolate makers of Orford, Suffolk, make it from the bean in small batches, and describe it as the first bar in their Double Origin series: two origins, one bar.

The chocolate has a minimum of 55% cocoa solids and 16% milk solids, made with whole milk powder. Less than 1% of Halen Môn sea salt from Anglesey is ground into the chocolate rather than sprinkled on top, so it is felt everywhere and seen nowhere. The maker says the Madagascan beans bring a fruity warmth, while the salt lifts and rounds the bar towards its tasting notes of dulce de leche and milk caramel. It is sweeter and softer than their dark bars, without the sugar hit of ordinary milk chocolate.

This is the bar to put out after a big meal with a glass of The One Fine Blended Whisky, or to eat with a strong black coffee mid-afternoon. It is also a good bar for people who like salted caramel and want the real thing rather than a flavouring.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, missing an item, or not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and the affected item. Please keep all packaging until we've reviewed the issue.
