Tracklements Traditional French Dressing

Tracklements Traditional French Dressing is a classic vinaigrette made by Tracklements at Easton Grey near Malmesbury in Wiltshire, where they blend it from oil, cider vinegar and their own Smooth Dijon Mustard. The producer describes it as a balanced, mellifluous vinaigrette.

Sunflower oil makes up 62% of the bottle, with cider vinegar for sharpness and Dijon mustard at 9% to hold the two together. It is seasoned with garlic, tarragon, black pepper, a little raw cane sugar and sea salt. The taste is what a French dressing should be: sharp, smooth and savoury, with the aniseed note of tarragon and a mild mustard finish rather than a sweet one.

The producer suggests it for tender green leaves, asparagus, cold ham and potato salads. It also does the job on a tomato salad, a bowl of warm green beans, grilled leeks or a plate of sliced cold roast beef. Keep a bottle for weeknight salads when there is no time to make your own, and use it to finish steamed vegetables straight from the pan.

The bottle holds 240ml. Contains mustard. Shake well before use and refrigerate once opened.
